Arts Enrichment After-School Program

The Arts Enrichment After-School Program provides free Arts Expression classes for elementary students. Students experience dance, puppetry, drum, flute making, culinary arts, fiber arts, and more. Homework support and tutoring are also provided to students each day.Through the various experiences, students are prepared to perform and exhibit their artistic work during Family Nights and the Academy’s annual end-of-year Takin’ It To The Streets Performance and Exhibit.

Community Arts

Working together, students, with their families and other community members, identify a theme and create a graffiti or clay art mural. Over time, mural creations will be housed at the Academy and other community gathering places, as well as exhibited at various performances.

Family Arts

Family Arts provide youth and their families the opportunity to learn about and create an art form and product for their family. Family Arts is offered both at the Academy or at various community events throughout the year.

Summer Arts Camp

The Summer Arts Camp provides five-weeks of art, music, dance, and more for elementary and middle school students. The Camp is offered four days a week for three hours per day. The Summer Arts Camp provides students with opportunities to explore local arts through field trips, make and create art to be shared with others, participate in community arts, and express themselves artistically through a variety of art forms.

Performance Track

The Performance Track provides Academy students with an opportunity for a deeper study of Drumming or Mask Theater.  These classes, offered on a sliding scale, have regular performance opportunities built into the schedule.  Students will become proficient and comfortable performing at various venues throughout the Twin Cities.
