Summer Arts 2008
June 23rd to July 24th
Ages 6 to 12yrs (students must have completed kindergarten)
Monday – Thursday
1pm to 4pm
Week 1: Art Adventure (FULL)
Create your own animal safari movie, build a life size elephant out of papier-mâché, paint a wild animal mural on the back of a bus or explore your favorite creatures in clay. All wild beasts are welcomed to play!
Week 2: Outer Space (FULL)
A week of rocket making, building a giant space ship, alien puppets, creating cities of the future and more. We will learn about space, science and have out of this world fun.
Week 3: Mixed Media Madness (FULL)
Astronauts use it on the Space Shuttle and you will build, bags, shoes and wallets out of Duct Tape. Learn how to tie-dye your favorite t-shirt or design a giant, working submarine and stick your self inside a junk box to make a robot. This is the week you get to build, create and paint all those wonderful creatures that only you could imagine.
Week 4: Deconstruct, Construct, Transform (FULL)
Have you ever wondered how electricity works? Or what is inside your V.C.R.? Did you want to learn the fine art of deconstruction and transform a box of toys into a giant sculpture or create your own kid nation with tunnels, pulleys and a working elevator system. This is a week full of art for inventors and explorers.
Week 5: Let me Entertain you! (FULL)
Let Me Entertain You!!!!! You are the star! Write your own plays, join a drum circle, hip-hop your way across the stage, build a giant puppet and more. This week will explore all the arts, which require a large imagination and a little bit of stage!
