Urban Arts Academy Closes After 18 Years in Operation.
The Urban Arts Academy Board of Directors made the difficult decision to close the school. Changes in anticipated funding left the school without the financial resources needed to continue operating.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff, we want to extend our supreme thanks and appreciation for all of your support over these past, many years.
Your emotional and financial help have enabled Urban Arts to touch the lives of so many children with our unique blend of arts-infused education.
It goes without saying that we are all so sad to see Urban Arts Academy close. Over the last 18 years, thousands of children, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds have come together at Urban Arts Academy – using the arts to build self-expression and community. And it has been so enriching! We feel honored to have had the opportunity, with your generous support, to provide arts-infused education in our South Minneapolis neighborhood for so long, and we hope that we have served the community well.
As we close our doors, our greatest hope is that our impact will live on in the lives of the children, youth, and families we have served throughout the years.
On behalf of all of us at Urban Arts Academy - thank you for 18 incredible years.
